There is something special about a pair of glasses that feels one of a kind without looking overly designed. That is part of what makes SALT. so enjoyable to wear. Here are five SALT. frames currently catching our eye.
Smith in Mesa
Smith has the kind of shape that looks familiar right away, but there is enough character in the details to keep it interesting. The softly rounded silhouette gives it a vintage feel, while the lighter construction keeps the overall look relaxed and contemporary.
The Mesa colour is particularly beautiful. The combination of grey and warm brown creates just the right amount of contrast that changes depending on the light. It has the look of a frame that will work with almost anything in your wardrobe, while still giving your glasses a little personality.
Smith is a great example of what we appreciate about SALT. It does not need to make a big statement to stand out.
June in Amethyst
June is for anyone who likes their eyewear with a little more colour.
The shape is classic enough for everyday wear, but the Amethyst colour gives the frame an entirely different personality. The rich purple has depth to it rather than feeling overly bright, making it a surprisingly versatile choice. There is also something lovely about the way June sits between classic and contemporary.
Like many SALT. acetate frames, June is handcrafted in Japan, with the quality and finish of the material adding to its polished feel.
Grays in Coastal Fog
Grays has a little more attitude.
Its strong rectangular shape gives it a confident, slightly retro character, but the softened edges keep it from feeling too severe. It is the sort of frame that can completely change the feel of an outfit, especially when you want your glasses to be part of the look rather than simply something you need to see.
The Coastal Fog colour brings another layer to the design. Rather than a straightforward black, the grey and darker tones give the frame a softer, more nuanced appearance.
We think Grays is a particularly good reminder that a classic shape does not have to feel conservative. Sometimes it is the proportions and the colour that make all the difference.
Henderson in Copper / Antique Gold
Henderson takes a very different approach. Where some SALT. frames let the acetate do the talking, Henderson is all about the beauty of titanium. The delicate metal construction gives the frame a lightness that you can feel as soon as you put it on, while the warm Copper and Antique Gold combination adds a quiet touch of sophistication.
There is a vintage influence here, reminiscent of the refined metal eyewear of the 1950s and 60s, but Henderson does not feel like a reproduction. The clean lines and carefully considered details give it a distinctly modern personality.
Dash in Rose Gold
Some frames never really go out of style, and the aviator is one of them.
Dash takes that familiar shape and gives it the SALT. treatment. The proportions are clean and refined, while the lightweight titanium construction keeps the frame comfortable enough for everyday wear. The Rose Gold finish adds warmth and gives the classic aviator a softer, more contemporary feel.
This is a frame that works just as well with jeans and a T-shirt as it does with something more polished. There is an ease to it that feels very SALT., with enough personality to make it unmistakably your own.
